Thank you Weddings by Evanescents for turning my dream wedding into reality! When I started planning the details for our wedding, I realized that although I had an overall vision I had no idea how to get there. I met with Nikki who seemed to make the whole wedding come together in one meeting, she had ideas for everything I was imagining and made it all come together. Three weeks before the wedding, we found out that our venue near Dead Man’s Flats had been flooded during the June 2013 floods, and could no longer hold our wedding. We were devastated, not to mention completely stressed out about having to re-plan everything in three weeks. When I told Nikki, she invited me to come over and meet with her so she could help. She was absolutely amazing about getting everything back on track and making sure all the bases were covered. On the day of the wedding, I had originally planned to do all the decorating and set-up with the help of family and friends, but with the change of venue and all the extra work it had become too much. Nikki and her hair stylist jumped in the day of the wedding and helped with the decorating and set-up. They made it look better than I ever could have on my own. After that was done, they did the hair and make-up for myself and four bridesmaids, and everyone looked wonderful. My only regret is not hiring them for all coordination, set-up and take down from the very beginning. Trust me, it is money well spent. We were married on New Year’s Eve 2012, and planned our wedding in an exceptionally accelerated time frame – 6 months. In an effort to save some money we had set up various rentals through different vendors, none of which were being very effective communicators, and while in the home stretch of planning Christmas, 2 birthday parties and a wedding for 100 people, we had two vendors completely fall off of the radar. Nikki came very highly recommended and we jumped on the opportunity to meet with here right away. With a month’s notice she asked what our vision was “Blue, White, snowflake and Sparkle” … Nikki turned around and offered a plethora of options to make our new year’s eve soirée a complete success. Not to mention that her prices were very reasonable, and her products are top quality. The fact that Nikki was basically on call all day for any DIY disasters, and technical support during set up. Simply amazing. I should also mention that we were blessed to have “one stop shopping” with Nik, because she also did our make up the day of, myself and 6 bridesmaids left the salon looking perfect, and by the end of our morning together, I felt like Nikki and Jenn should have been throwing on their blue dresses to join us as a part of the party. They are so warm, kind and fun, it truly felt like we were among friends. My husband and I decided to get married out of town and booked our venue in Kelowna. I had thought we would just do everything because it would be “so fun.” About a month after that decision I knew it was not the great time I had planned, that is when I called Nikki. She is such a gem. Not only is she a real professional but she is warm, thoughtful and caring. She offered advice, asked questions that I had not even thought about and guided us through the process with ease. Trust me when I say that hiring Nikki will not be something anyone would regret. My bridal party consisted of six beautiful women, with very different degrees of makeup and hair expertise. My concern was pulling everybody together as a cohesive unit with everybody looking gorgeous but not over-the-top. Enter Nikki, (makeup) and Amanda (hair) – what a team! The ladies showed up in Canmore bright and early with tons of energy and ideas. Nikki really took the time to adjust the make up colors to each girl’s features and look, as did Amanda with the hairstyles. I didn’t give them a lot of direction other than the overall feel that I wanted and as very fashionable women themselves they created looks that were modern, classy and appropriate for such an event. Evanescents was one of the best decisions we made in regards to planning our wedding! We hired them for a full plan, and day of coordination. For our wedding, unfortunately we had an unforeseen situation crop up. This caused our entire wedding to need to be re-scheduled and re-planned. Without their team we would not have been able to handle this. They were kind, thoughtful, and courteous, and they saved the day. We re-planned the wedding for a year later, and the day went beautifully. They made sure to have lots of selections, and suggestions for us, which was wonderful.
